Back to Earth’s Natural Loops

EXPLANATION TO THE GRAPHICS

- The large cycle of materials that changes the world
 – Small farmers and self-supporters in the southern hemisphere providing valuable organic food –
World hunger drastically reduced – independent from the northern hemisphere.

Moringa Oleifera is a very undemanding tree that grows in all southern countries worldwide. This our planet’s richest-in-nutrient plant grows just in all these places where poverty and hunger have become most devastating.
Within just one year, this tree grows from cuttings up to 3–4 m.
Moringa not only is of much importance to solve food shortage, moreover, it is also used as for fish food in the Aquaponics cycle system. Thus, the fish is nourished with nutritious and high vitamin tree leaves, which keeps them healthy and ensures good growth. In addition, sweet potatoes, rice leftovers, coconut rasps and other domestic plants can be fed.

Aquaponics allows to keep fish species appropriately and at the same time grow vegetables on little space and with low investments. A 12-cbm-pond system thus produces monthly approx. 50 kg of fish and enough vegetables for a family of 10. The plantation corresponds to a 40 square meter vegetable garden with tomatoes, carrots, eggplants, paprika, green salad ... (see graphics), so even a big family can secure their food self-sufficiency.

The cycle is closed by the composting with Terra Preta. All plant leftovers, fish rubbish, bones, essence leftovers up to feces are fermented in an easy anaerobic procedure and mixed with plant coal. Thus, the garbage is hygienized (sterilized) and prepared for composting. The finished Terra Preta then may be brought out to the fields or digged into high-level patches where high-quality organic vegetables grow, too.

The connection of small natural material loops to this concept provides a sustainable basic provision for the rural population.

This concept works in all tropical and semitropical countries of the world.

FAIRTRADE TRADING WITH MORINGA OLIFEIRA
Independently of the above mentioned project, a Fair-trade with Moringa is planned.
The cultivation of organic Moringa by small farmers in a trading partnership with Fair-trade aiming on the European fair trade market helps to finance more projects on the Philippines with little or without extra help.
Thereby, the southern hemisphere gains independence from donations of the northern hemisphere. Hunger and malnutrition might be partially defeated, rural depopulation stopped. The cities would be relieved, the seas can regenerate, the environmental pollution will be lowered thanks to the closed material cycles regional vegetable-growing will secure a cost-efficient and reliable nutrition of the population, and the CO2 output will go down, in total: The quality of life is being improved.
